I graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Queensland in 1991 and from Queensland University of Technology in 2001 with a Master of Business Administration.

I live in Brisbane, Australia - where I was born - with my wonderful wife and two lovely children.

I am currently an anaesthetics registrar and hope to complete my Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists at the end of 2008.

Before my wife finally convinced me that I wasn't too old to pursue my true love (anaesthetics) I whittled away a few years in medical administration and other things.

In the mid 1990s I had worked for the UK NHS Executive in their Information Management Group where I learnt a bit about computerised knowledge representation and knowledge engineering. Apart from that, I blame my programming ability on a misspent youth.
