Volunteers needed!

Do you have some hours to spare on those quiet ICU or maternity shifts? or do you just want to contribute something to your fellow anaesthetists? Then I could really use your help.

The PETi question collection is far from perfect and if it is going to remain worthwhile it will need the efforts of more than one of me.

I've been a bit busy in the last year with getting through my FANZCA finals (yay!) and various family expansions and contractions... But things have started to settle down now so I'm going to get back into refining gasboys. And I'd love your help!!

Would you be interested in?:
  • Reviewing questions (that is rating them on a 1 to 10 scale of relevance, accuracy etc)
  • Adding new questions (either at random, or around a specific topic) for example:
    • anatomy
    • essential (beginners') anaesthesia
    • various pharmacology topics
    • ECG interpretation
    • a topic of your choice
  • Helping with the indexing of questions (that is putting the questions into categories (this is a bit of a dull tedious job, but has important implications for long term maintenance of the question collection)

It doesn't matter what stage of your anaesthetic career you are at I can use your help. Even if you are at the beginning of your anaesthetic career, six months out from sitting the primary you can still help by reviewing the existing part one questions for relevance. Obviously the further along you are the more your can contribute.

As you can see from the above suggestions I'm mainly after your clinical rather than technical expertise, but if you're of a technical bent and wanted to do some programming I'm vaguely interested in providing a palm-pilot interface for the questions.

Now that I've got some time I am going to be playing with the mechanics of the question database to provide some of the tools to better enable others to help with the above tasks. Which bits I do first will be governed by what it is you are willing to do.

Of course you need to grant permission for your contributions to become part of the question database, but other than that you retain copyright of them.

And if you want to you can your name in lights, having your own profile page, or you can be anoymous. It's up to you but I'm happy to share the glory... such as it is.
