A great book to buy early in your training. It is excellent value and introduces nearly every topic.
This Australian book is a good one for your pocket.
Another excellent book to buy early in your career. It will fit in your pocket, but slips easily into a bag.
This comprehensive manual is worth owning, and is especially useful during your ICU rotation.
You have to love small books whose very presence in your pocket gives you a greater feeling of being ready.

If you are sitting physiology, then you must buy Kerry Brandis's excellent book
Physics and Measurement
Pharmacology
I did not use this book myself, but having flipped through it, it seems pretty good.
This is a good one for your pocket in the lead up to the exam.
