Introduction
PET was written by me to help me pass the FANZCA primary examination. It was specifically designed to help me rote learn material in a living room decorated with two lovely, but highly distracting, offspring.

PET acts like a personal coach. It asks MCQ questions and keeps a record of whether you get them right or wrong. It uses an algorithm to prioritise the questions based on how many times you have answered the question, whether you got it right or wrong and how long ago you answered it. This enables you to fire up PET whenever you have a spare five minutes or five hours. PET keeps track of where you were up to and repeatedly asks the questions you are weak on.
Features
- You can edit questions if they are unclear or contain grammatical or spelling errors
- You can permanently skip questions that you are not interested in. This is important because the annoying questions that you get wrong are the ones PETi will keep asking you. You can subsequently search for all your skipped questions and unskip them if you wish.
- You to can add new questions or comments and references to existing questions for the benefit of others.
- You can list all the questions you have ever edited in the search function
- You can refine the scope of a question. That is, state if a particular question is relevant to statistics, physiology, part-two etc etc.
- You can limit questions by topic (although the database currently holds mainly 'part one' questions).
- Some questions have associated images and PETi loads and displays these automatically.
- You can now get a count of all the questions you have done in the 'personal profile' option, broken down by date.
- You can find out if others are online using the 'activity' report
Features I am planning to add or refine
In rough priority order:
- I need to add more help notes
- Other suggestions are welcome!
Known bugs or problems
- Some of the reports are currently broken due to the conversion to the new database
- The times are now a mixture of UTC and New Jersey time!
- There is a minor issue with some of the numerical questions that may make some of them appear a bit odd periodically
- PETi doesn't work in Internet Explorer for Mac (at least versions 5.2 or 4.5) - but it does work for Netscape for Mac. (It also works in Internet Explorer 6 and recent editions of Mozilla for windows (98 and XP etc)
